It has been known to all of us that the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda is celebrated every year on 12 January. This day is celebrated as National Youth Day in the whole country. Swami Vivekananda was a disciple of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. Swami Vivekananda was born on 12 January 1863 in a Kayastha family in Kolkata (Calcutta). His name was Narendranath Dutt in childhood. His father Vishwanath Dutt was a lawyer of the Calcutta High Court.
Swami Vivekananda not only brightened the name of India with his thoughts but also increased the value of the country in the world. His vigorous speech delivered in the city of Chicago in America is still very popular. It is said that in the year 1893, he taught the lesson of Hindutva and spirituality to the world at the World Religion Conference held in Chicago. He introduced the world to Indian culture and Indian knowledge. Swami Vivekananda is such a great man whose thoughts still inspire people. He established the Ramakrishna Mission in 1897 for the service and philanthropy of humanity. This mission was named after Vivekananda after his guru Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. He passed away on 4 July 1902, but people still remember him.
