BTS is still buzzing following their performance at the 76th United Nations General Assembly, but they're most excited to meet their fans again. The K-pop supergroup sat down with South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Good Morning America on Friday to remark on their history-making performance of "Permission to Dance" at the United Nations General Assembly, discuss their plans for touring, and their opinions on Covid-19.
"I believe BTS can convey awareness and empathy since they represent the younger generation and many people relate to them," President Moon stated, days after announcing BTS as the "special presidential envoy for future generations and culture" during the United Nations meeting.
Taking use of their platform, the worldwide superstars spoke on GMA about how much they miss playing live for fans and the necessity of being vaccinated against COVID-19 so that they can return to the road to entertain soon.
"What we want to do most after the pandemic is having a concert," J-Hope said. "As excited as we are to play, we also hope the situation improves fast, that many people get vaccinated, and that we can safely have a show."
"That's exactly what the fans want, and it's exactly what we want. It would be wonderful if we could live in a world where people could once again converse face to face and hug each other." Jin expressed sympathy for individuals who are fearful of receiving the Covid-19 vaccination, but feels that "if we are scared of the past, we will not be able to develop."
Suga echoed the sentiment, and added the group has been feeling down because of their cancelled events and Covid-19 isolation, "If not only us, but everyone around the world come together to overcome it, we can emerge from this isolation and depression a bit faster."
