New Delhi: In north Delhi's Kotwali area, a tragic incident unfolded resulting in the death of a man and injuries to a minor during an altercation, as reported by the police on Monday. The deceased, identified as Md Saquib (36), worked as a cab driver, while the injured was identified as Luv Kush (15).

According to police sources, a PCR call alerted the Kotwali police station about a quarrel that erupted during the intervening night of Sunday and Monday. At approximately 1:50 AM, LNJP Hospital reported the admission of Md Saquib and Luv Kush, both bearing gunshot wounds.

Providing further context, the police stated, "Around 12:00 AM, a vehicle traveling from Kodia Pul to Chatta Rail Crossing collided with an e-rickshaw, triggering an altercation." "During the dispute, one individual brandished a firearm and shot at the vehicle's driver. Additionally, the same individual fired at a nearby beggar who was observing the altercation," elaborated the police.

Subsequent to the incident, the assailant fled from the scene, leaving behind the victims who were swiftly taken to LNJP Hospital by bystanders. Forensic examination of the location has been conducted.

A case has been registered under sections 302/307 IPC and 27 Arms Act, and a search has been initiated to apprehend the perpetrator. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
