Kolkata: A case of gang-rape has come to light with a minor girl returning home from the ongoing fair at Shantiniketan in Birbhum district of West Bengal. According to the complaint, the girl along with her friend had gone to the Charak fair in Adityapur village of Shantiniketan, when the incident took place on her way back. On the way, five youths along with the minor girl carried out the incident by taking them to the river bank. The police swung into action as soon as the incident was reported. A team led by the SP of Birbhum reached the village. Based on the statement of the girl's friend, the sketch of the accused is being made. After preliminary investigation, the police believe that the accused had come from some other district to the fair here. The victim girl has been admitted to the hospital in Bolpur.
