Ghaziabad: A 17-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and taken to a hotel where she was drugged and raped in Modinagar in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad district, police said on Saturday. The victim is a class 11 student. The accused youth belongs to the Muslim community. After which the information about the incident was received, the people of Hindu organizations reached the spot and created a ruckus. Tension prevails in the area as it is a Hindu-Muslim matter. The police have registered a case and launched a search for the accused.
The victim is a resident of a colony of Modinagar living with her family. 17-year-old daughter studies in Class 11. On Monday morning, the girl left home to go to school. It is alleged that a youth living in the neighbourhood took the student to the hotel with him on an excuse midway. There, he drugged the student and raped her in the hotel room. When she resisted the rape, he assaulted and injured the student.
The police have registered a case in this regard and started an investigation. Police said the victim's complaint has been registered and she has been sent for a medical check-up. The investigation is going on and soon the accused will be in the custody of the police.
