Singer Adele recently disclosed that TV host-actor James Corden sent her a used piece of Celine Dion's chewing gum, and he has now explained the tale behind the bizarre gift. "The weekend before we shot ('Carpool Karaoke,') my family, (Adele), her kid, and I went on a little weekend away to Mexico, and we spent a weekend together," he explained.

"And then the following Friday, I was filming 'Carpool' with Celine Dion, who Adele adores."
According to media sources, Corden joked that Dion thought he was insane when he begged to retain her gum. The TV celebrity also said that in order to keep a screenplay secure, he pulled a piece of paper from it. On 'The Late Late Show With James Corden,' he remarked: "'Don't,' I yelled as I took off a piece and she placed it in. 'I'll do it,' she said, as she was going to fold the paper.

"'I got it, I got it, I got it,' I shouted. After that, I had to hand it to (show producer Diana Miller), and I told her, "I need to keep this really safe." And she grabbed it and looked at me as if to say, 'I believe today is the day he goes insane.'

"'Please keep it secure,' I urged. Then I gave it to (Adele) as a birthday present. She's a hard person to shop for. A candle will not suffice." Adele recently claimed that she has a piece of Celine Dion's gum in a frame in her house. In Vogue's '73 Questions' video series, which was taped at her home in California, the 33-year-old actress confessed after being asked what her "proudest possession" was.
