Vijayawada: Governor Biswa Bhushan Harichandan made it clear to the Vice Chancellors during the Vice Chancellors' Conference held at Raj Bhavan that by holding the convocations on regular basis, the students should be awarded degrees on time to safeguard their future. The Governor also brought to the notice of Professor K Hemachandra Reddy, Chairman, AP State Council of Higher Education, to conduct the convocation on regular basis and ensure its implementation.

Governor Biswa Bhushan Harichandan has expressed concern over some universities of the state not conducting convocations on a regular basis, saying that the careers of the students will be put at risk if they do not conduct convocations on a regular basis. In the post-Covid situation, even though some state universities have held their convocations recently, many universities are still not conducting convocations.

The Governor directed the Vice Chancellors of the state universities to conduct the annual convocations of their regularly as per the schedule so that the careers of the students are not affected. The Governor also directed the Vice-Chancellors that the COVID protocol should be compulsorily followed while conducting the convocation due to the Covid situation. The Governor also said that if the COVID situation does not permit physical convocation, the convocation should be conducted in virtual mode as far as possible.
