Another brutal Horrific incident came into the light with 2-year-old girl.   A woman and her lover were arrested from Sastri Nagar of Chennai on Thursday for allegedly torturing a 2-year-old. The daughter of the woman is undergoing treatment for burn injuries caused by cigarettes. The couple was identified as Banu (28) and Jagan.

Banu reportedly got married three year ago. The couple had a daughter the following year but they later split. She  got estranged from her husband and started living with Jagan along with her kid. On September 29, Banu reportedly called her mother and said that her baby was suffering from health issues and told her to rush to her home.

On Thursday, Banu informed her mother Kanniammal tha her daughter Angel was not keeping well. Kanniammal rushed to Sastri Nagar and took her granddaughter to the Institute of Child Health and Hospital in Egmore. During treatment, the doctors realised that her daughter  was being physically tortured as there were multiple marks of cigarette burns on her body. Angel had burn marks on her face and other parts of her body.

After which the doctors informed the Sastri Nagar police of the incident and Banu was summoned. At the police station, Banu confessed that she used to harm the baby physically in the company of Jegan under the influence of alcohol. The duo were detained for further investigation.

This is not the first incident, In september a woman and her co-worker were arrested for the murder of her live-in partner in Chennai's Virugambakkam. According to the police, Saligramam-native Soundarya had moved in with Vijay three months ago after she left her husband. Vijay was an alcoholic who used to abuse Soundarya's two children aged 14 and 12 when drunk. This led to his murder by the woman and her colleague identified as Prabhu.
