New Delhi: It was every bowler's dream to dismiss Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar and every bowler who played with him wanted to do this job once in his career. However, Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar, who has bowled to Sachin in many matches, has made a sensational revelation. Akhtar said that in the year 2006, he wanted to injure Sachin, not out.

In fact, in 2006, the third Test between India and Pakistan was going on in Karachi. Akhtar admitted in a media interaction that his intention was not to dismiss Sachin but to injure him. Akhtar said, "This is the first time I am revealing it. I really wanted to kill Sachin. I was determined that I had to hurt Sachin at any cost. The bowler, popularly known as Rawalpindi Express, said, "Inzamam told me many times to keep the ball stump to stump, but I was adamant on hurting Sachin. I hit a ball on his helmet and I thought they went, died. But then, when I saw the video, I found out that Sachin had saved his head.''

Akhtar said that while his attempt to injure Tendulkar continued, Mohammad Asif troubled the other Indian batsmen. Shoaib said, "I tried to injure Sachin Tendulkar again. From the other side, the Indian batsmen became victims of Asif's bowling. I rarely remember that someone else bowled well from Asif that day. This is the same Test match, in which Irfan Pathan took a hat-trick by dismissing Salman Butt, Younis Khan and Mohammad Yusuf in the very first over. India suffered a 341-run defeat in this Test, which made them trail 0-1 in the three-match series.
