The woman was found in Dhemaji district of Assam. and according to sources she had met the man i.e. her husband when both of them were in Tamil Nadu in connection with the job. That person is actually a resident of 2 Sarke Basti area of ​​Nakhuti under Lumding police station area. The woman said that the man had not disclosed his true religious identity before marriage.

She further claims that after their marriage he started torturing her with domestic violence, which affected both her physical and mental health. After a few months, the man fled from Tamil Nadu to Assam with a large sum of money. Then the real identity of the man came to be known. On Wednesday, October 20, Hojai Superintendent of Police Barun Purkayastha sent a police team to nab the accused person. They arrested him the same night and introduced him to a local court in Hojai on Thursday, 21 October.
