Kannauj: After the DGGI in Uttar Pradesh, now the Income Tax Department has launched a campaign against the perfume traders. As part of the investigation of tax evasion, on Friday, Kannauj's big perfume trader and Samajwadi Party (SP) MLC Pushpraj Jain alias Pumpi Jain and Mian Malik premises were raided. DGGI was preparing for Income Tax raids on the premises of Pushpraj Jain and Malik Mian long back.

These raids were carried out immediately after the raids on Piyush Jain. Preparations for income tax raids on many big perfume traders including Pumpi Jain were going on for two months already. Their business, turnover, ITR was being thoroughly scrutinised. Along with this, complete information about his business spread from Kannauj, Kanpur to Mumbai was collected. In which it was found that their business is much bigger than the tax paid by them. A large number of relatives of these businessmen were also, directly and indirectly, involved in this.

The agencies suspected that there were many dummy names in them and that they were in fact the real owners of the business. Preparations for action on them were almost complete, but the operation was stopped due to the arrival of DGGI Ahmedabad. Immediately after the disclosure of Piyush Jain, now IT has taken action because the name of Pumpy Jain was also being added in the Piyush case and the connection of crores of cash received from Piyush was also being linked.
