Kochi: A very shocking incident has come to light in Kerala. There is an attempt to rape a coronavirus infected patient here. This incident is from Ulliyari, a region in Kozhikode district of Kerala. According to local police, the incident took place at the Malabar Medical College on Sunday night. The 34-year-old man working in the hospital allegedly tried to rape a woman who was a coronavirus patient.

The complainant alleges that the accused Ashwin took her mobile number from the register of the hospital and WhatsApp her. Feeling uncomfortable with the conversation, the patient informed the doctors in this regard. Later Ashwin came to her room and told that the doctors want to meet the patient. She then took the patient to the fourth floor via the lift, the accused allegedly took him out of the elevator and tried to rape him.

The patient ran away from there and told other patients and hospital staff about this. Later, others gathered at the hospital reception to protest against the incident and on the basis of the complaint against the accused, Ashwin has been arrested by the Athol Police and taken on remand. The hospital has suspended him from service.
