The legendary singer Kishore Kumar performed the well-known song "Mere sapnon ki rani" from the 1969 Bollywood film "Aradhana" on a singing reality show, and veteran actress Sharmila Tagore recalled that she went especially to the studio to see him sing the song effortlessly.

She uttered: "This song was performed by Kishore ji while seated cross-legged on a chair, casually and with ease. To hear him sing this song, I had specifically made the trip to the studio."

The 77-year-old actress, who made her acting debut in Satyajit Ray's Bengali drama "The World of Apu" when she was just 14 years old, has worked in a number of financially successful movies, including "Waqt," "An Evening in Paris," "Aradhana," "Safar," "Amar Prem," "Daag," and many others. She most recently made an appearance on a singing reality show alongside well-known actress Tanuja She was moved by the captivating rendition of some of her melodious songs by contestant Rishi Singh from Ayodhya, including "Jeevan Se Bhari Teri Ankhein" from Rajesh Khanna's heartfelt romantic film "Safar" and "Mere sapnon ki rani" from "Aradhana." Along with Sharmila and the show's host Aditya Narayan, he also performed the scene from "Mere Sapnon Ki Rani."

The actress extolled contestant Rishi from "Indian Idol 13," who had her in awe, saying: "It was wonderful to hear from you. You produced a mystical environment. The entire country is pleased with you."

The judges for the singing reality show were Vishal Dadlani, Neha Kakkar, and Himesh Reshammiya.
