KOLKATA: The Kolkata Police have captured Rs 14.53 crore from a cryptocurrency wallet belongs to Amir Khan, the key accused in duping manay6 people through a mobile gaming app E-Nuggets.

This amount is in addition to the Rs 17.32 crore in cash that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) seized on September 10 from Naser Khan, Amir Khan's father, at his home in Shahi Astabal Lane in the Garden Reach area of Kolkata. Binance was identified as the platform of the cryptocurrency wallet of Amir Khan where Rs 14.53 crore were deposited.

Amir Khan, who was detained by the city police on September 24 after being apprehended by the Kolkata Police in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, will next appear in court in Kolkata on October 8 at a lower level of court.

In the meantime, the ED was eager to take Amir Khan into custody so they could find the other fraud victims. The central agency will choose its next course of legal action in this case based on what happens in court on October 8.
In accordance with the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), the ED conducted raids on six locations in Kolkata on September 10. E-Nuggets was a mobile gaming app that Amir Khan had introduced; it was made with the intention of scamming users.

Users initially gained confidence because they were paid with commission during the early stages and could easily withdraw their wallet balance. As a result, they began investing larger sums to earn a higher proportion of commission and more buy orders.

After receiving sizable donations from the general public, the stated app abruptly ceased allowing withdrawals under various pretexts. Following that, the aforementioned app server had all data wiped clean, including profile information.
