Muskan's brother Yuvraj told that Muskan was an M.Com first year student at SD College, Chandigarh. Earlier, she did her B.Com from Guru Nanak Dev College in Chandigarh. She topped all types of competitions. It was her nature to react to whatever was wrong around. For this, she used to resort to social media. She used to openly argue on Facebook or WhatsApp. This is why she contested as an Independent in the B.Com final year at Gurunanak Dev College and won the college with a heavy vote. Yuvraj said that after completing her studies from Siddharth International School, Muskan was confused about getting the family to join B.Com in Delhi or Chandigarh. Then took the decision of Chandigarh, because family members keep visiting here.

Yuvraj told that his uncle Dinesh Mehta also lives in Chandigarh. Muskan stayed in the hostel while doing B.Com. After joining M.Com, she was shifted to PG.
