Indore: Muslim youth has been accused of kidnapping a Dalit girl in Madhya Pradesh's Dewas district. The allegation has triggered communal violence in Dewas. Angry people not only created a ruckus at the house of accused Farzan but also vandalised the mosque. During this time, a procession was taken out in the village shouting slogans and the markets were closed demanding Farzan's arrest. Police reached the spot and controlled the situation. A case has been registered against the accused. The incident took place on Friday (August 26, 2022).

According to media reports, the case is of the Udaynagar police station area. A resident here lodged a police complaint saying his 19-year-old sister was kidnapped by 20-year-old Farzan when her father went to Indore and three other siblings had gone to school. According to the victim, she was putting manure in the fields with her sister at the time of the incident. The accused had used a bike for the kidnapping. According to the information received, the family members of the victim attacked the house of the accused Farzan and his relatives.

The mosque of the village was vandalised and 2 bikes and 1 car parked at the house of the accused were damaged. During this time, the crowd also took out a procession with anti-Muslim slogans in the village. The police have been given 24 hours to arrest the accused. The video of this ruckus is going viral on social media. When the police came to know about this matter, the officials immediately reached the spot and handled the situation. A flag march was held to maintain peace in the village. The victim's family was explained and additional force has been deployed in the city. A case has been registered and a search is on for the accused and the kidnapper. The police have registered a case against the accused under section 365 of the SC/ST Act and IPC. At the same time, an FIR has also been registered against 2 accused of vandalism.
