Palghar: The body of a man was found in bushes in the Palghar district of Maharashtra. Police have reportedly arrested a 32-year-old man on charges of murder in the case. In fact, an official has reported the matter today, Sunday. An official of Mira-Bhayandar Vasai-Virar police control room says, "The deceased has been identified as Bholanath Goswami, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, and his body was found dumped in roadside bushes in Valiv area of Palghar on Saturday.'' Moreover, he said, 'The post mortem report revealed that Goswami had been strangled to death.''

According to the information received, the deceased had come to the house of his relatives here and went missing on August 28. His family members then lodged a complaint with the Waliva police. Police had then nabbed a man named Mukesh Gupta from Ambedkar Road in neighboring Thane city on the basis of special information.

In the case, the officer said, "During interrogation, the accused told the police that he had taken Goswami to Tulinj area of Palghar and gave him liquor.'' That's what the officer didn't elaborate on. But the officer said, 'He later strangled the deceased to death and threw the body into the bushes.'' Police further said, 'The accused was arrested on Sunday. A case has been registered against him under Sections 302 and 201 of the IPC.'
