Dehradun: In Uttarakhand, the BJP has appointed a new state president. In place of Madan Kaushik, the command of the state will now be in the hands of Mahendra Bhatt. BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh has issued a letter to Mahendra Bhatt to be made the President of Uttarakhand BJP. Former MLA from Badrinath Mahendra Bhatt has been appointed as the new state president by the BJP. Following the order of BJP National President JP Nadda, the appointment letter of the new BJP state president of Uttarakhand was issued today.  

Earlier, after Mahendra Bhatt's visit to Delhi along with Madan Kaushik and later Rajput MLA Khajan Das, the news about the appointment of a new BJP president in Uttarakhand had intensified. It is being said that Madan Kaushik may get a place in the state government.

The top leadership at the centre intensified the exercise to make a Brahmin face from Garhwal the president of the Uttarakhand BJP, following which Mahendra Bhatt has been appointed as the state president today. From the political perspective of Uttarakhand, it is often seen that the party takes decisions in view of the Brahmin-Thakur equation. Mahendra Bhatt has been a two-time MLA from Badrinath's seat. The BJP high command has given the command of Uttarakhand BJP president to Mahendra Bhatt in view of the equation in Garhwal and Kumaon.
