NEW DELHI: On Wednesday, Delhi Police nabbed a 32-year-old guy who had been on the run for three years after being charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Sandeep Kumar, a resident of Nangloi, Delhi, was named as the suspect.

DCP Sameer Sharma revealed that a case under the POCSO Act was filed at Nangloi police station in 2013, and the accused was detained. Because the accused revealed himself to be a teenager, around 16 years old at the time, he was brought before the Juvenile Justice Board and sent to the Juvenile Home.

However, the accused's age was verified by forensic experts, who determined that he was roughly 22 years old at the time of the incident. "The accused Sandeep was then sent to Tihar Jail, where he was released on court bail the following year," the DCP said.
