Miscreants vandalise Ganesh idols, police engaged in investigation

Raipur: In Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, unidentified criminals vandalized the idols of Lord Shri Ganesh kept for sale on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. Thereafter, the police registered a case and started an investigation. Police officials said, more than 150 statues have been vandalized. 

Police said the incident is from the Amapara area under the Azad Chowk police station area. In the early hours of Monday, around 150 idols of Lord Ganesha were damaged by unidentified criminals in three-four shops set up on the roadside. Thereafter, the shopkeepers complained to the police. On the basis of the complaints received, a case was registered and an investigation is on, the officer said. In this case, the police are probing the footage of some CCTV cameras installed around the shops. Along with this, people are also being questioned there.
