Aizawl: The Prime Minister on Thursday inaugurated 12 Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Oxygen Plants in hospitals in Mizoram through video conference, set up under the PM CARES Fund. which were inaugurated by the Prime Minister. He said PM CARES-funded oxygen plants were inaugurated at nine district hospitals in Mizoram and three hospitals in Aizawl, including Zoram Medical College (ZMC) and Mizoram State Cancer Institute (MSCI).

Apart from 10 district hospitals, ZMC and MSCI, an oxygen plant has also been set up at Aizawl's Kulicon Hospital, which was earlier a mental hospital which has now been converted into a dedicated COVID-19 health center (DCHC). Inaugurating the oxygen plant at Mizoram State Cancer Institute (MSCI) at Jembawk, ​​Aizawl, Chief Minister Zoramthanga expressed happiness over the commissioning of oxygen plants in various hospitals across the state.

He said that these plants would facilitate production of sufficient oxygen to meet the needs of COVID-19 patients and patients of other diseases in the State. In the virtual inauguration ceremony at Serchhip District Hospital, Health Minister Dr. R. Lalthangliana participated.
