Kolkata: The suicide of a 14-year-old Karate player in West Bengal has become a topic of discussion on social media. This incident happened last Monday (July 5, 2021) from Howrah. The body of Pamela Adhikari, who has participated in many karate tournaments at the national level, was found from her own house. The minor committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan in the room. Pamela Adhikari was a Class 8 student. She was very active on Instagram. Police say that a young man was blackmailing her for the past several days. Recently Pamela had come in contact with that young man and then the closeness between them had increased. Tired of blackmailing, Pamela embraces death.
In which it is written that she is taking such a big step after being harassed by blackmailing. After recovering the body, the police conducted the postmortem on the same day. Pamela Adhikari had also written the password of her mobile phone on her hand before committing suicide. Based on the complaint of the victim's relatives, a case of abetment to suicide was registered against a youth named Sunny Khan. Since this incident, Sunny Khan is said to be absconding. An operation is on to find him. The relatives of the deceased say that Pamela was very active on social media and had also posted many of her pictures. She was also getting offers for modeling from many places. The family told the police that a man named Sunny Khan had also approached her for a modeling assignment. Both met each other through social media. Then those people also met at some place to discuss this assignment.
At the same time, Sunny Khan took some pictures of Pamela's intimate moments. After this, with the help of the same pictures, he started blackmailing her. However, Pamela Adhikari turned down Sunny's demands. In the suicide note, the student has written that since she was afraid of being stigmatized by society, she chose the path of suicide. Pamela was also active on YouTube. Sunny Khan was threatening to make her pictures viral. Users on Instagram said that even if justice is done in this case, there is definitely a conspiracy going on to implicate Hindu girls. People are also calling it 'Love Jihad.' Also saying that the country has lost an emerging talent.
