New Delhi: A new record for Covid vaccination has been set in the country on Sunday. The total number of vaccinations on Sunday has reached two billion. With this, India has become the second country to give more than 2 billion doses to the population of its country. So far, more corona vaccine doses have been administered only in China than In India. More than three billion doses have been given so far. More than 3.4 billion doses have now been given in China. Speaking on the occasion, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya tweeted, "July 17, 2022  This day is always going to be remembered.''

At the same time, there has been a steady increase in the new cases of Covid. For the third consecutive day in the country, more than 20,000 corona cases have been found. In the last 24 hours, 20,528 cases of corona have been reported in the country, which is 2.4 per cent more than yesterday. Along with this, 49 people have also lost their lives due to Corona. Earlier, 20,044 cases of the corona were reported on Saturday while 20,038 cases of the corona were reported on Friday.

According to the Health Ministry, the highest number of new cases have been found in Kerala. There are 2,871 confirmed cases. Subsequently, 2,839 cases have been reported in West Bengal, 2,382 in Maharashtra, 2,340 in Tamil Nadu and 1,374 in Karnataka. In the last 24 hours, 49 corona-infected patients have also died in the country, which has increased the total number of deaths due to corona in the country to 5 lakh 25 thousand 709.  

On the other hand, the recovery rate of Corona in the country is now 98.47 per cent. A total of 17,790 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. At present, there are 1,43,449 active cases of Corona in the country. There has been an increase of 2,689 active cases in the last 24 hours. A new record is about to be set in the country in terms of corona vaccination. It is likely that today alone the total vaccination figure in the country can reach 2 billion doses. With this, India will become the second country in The World to administer more than two billion doses. More vaccine doses from India have been administered only in China.
