New Delhi: A 70-year-old man was stabbed to death by a minor of his family in Gopalgarh village under Noida's Jewar area adjoining the national capital late on Friday night, police said. The elderly man's son has named 12 people, including the minor, and lodged a police complaint. The police registered a case on the victim's information and questioned the minor in custody. The knife used in the murder has been seized and the minor has been produced in the children's court.

It is alleged that the minor committed the murder to avenge the murder of the hotel operator's father in the year 2018 over a land dispute. Giriraj (70), a resident of Gopalgarh, was on his way home on Friday night. On the way, a minor of the family slit the throat of the elderly with a knife. The police took Giriraj to Kailash Hospital in Jewar, where doctors declared him dead. In his complaint to the police, Giriraj's son Dinesh said that his father Giriraj had left the old house at 10.30 pm to go to the new house. On the way, 12 people, including a minor of the family, conspired and killed his father. In his complaint to the police, Dinesh said Harvir, Sundar, Shishpal, Happy, Manoj, Pawan and Bhagwandas were following Giriraj.

In the police interrogation, the minor told that Giriraj had killed his father on October 28, 2018. Giriraj and three people from his side were sent to jail in connection with the incident. Giriraj was out on bail these days. To avenge the murder, the minor killed Giriraj. The elderly man was having a property dispute with the family members. Later, the elderly man sold 16 bighas of land in the village. On this, the family members threatened to kill the elderly several times.  

The police had registered a case against Babu, Sundar, Harvir, Sattarjit, Sheeshpal, Happy, Manoj, Dev Prakash, Prashant, Pawan, Bhagwandas and a minor on Dinesh's complaint. Giriraj's family members have alleged that the minor is being carried forward as part of a conspiracy to benefit the killers. All the named accused involved in the murder have carried out the murder by conspiring with intent, and strict action should be taken against all the accused.
