Baripada- Odisha: Two men were sentenced to 20 years rigorous imprisonment by a local court in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district for raping a 55-year-old tribal lady in 2017.

Deepak Kumar, an Additional District and Sessions Judge in Rairangpur, also ordered the two to pay a Rs 20,000 penalty each as reparation.

In December 2017, Ajit Kumar Giri (35) and Balaram Naik (25), residents of Badampahar Police Station's village Langalsila, raped the woman in an under-construction house.  According to Additional Public Prosecutor Pankaj Das, the court handed down the verdict on Monday based on the victim's statement, medical reports, and the accounts of 15 witnesses.
