Aligarh: A kilo of barfi and a 1,000 rupee bet in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, became the enemy of the young man's life. In fact, the young man had gone to cross Kalidah, an ancient pond at Mahendra Nagar in the Sasni Gate area, but did not return alive. After which a save campaign was launched by the district administration in search of him, the body of the youth was found late in the night.

In fact, a 35-year-old man named Mangal Bihari drowned in Kalidah, an ancient pond at Mahendra Nagar in Thana Sasni Gate area of Aligarh, which was rescued. His body was recovered late at night. SP Traffic Satish Chandra said Mangal Bihari and his other 3 friends were bet while drinking. According to the police, the condition was that whoever crosses the pond would be given Rs 1000 and 1 kg of Barfi. Then on Tuesday morning Mangal Bihari landed in Kalidah pond, about 20 feet deep, filled with mud and water. As soon as he saw it, he drowned. There were noisy scenes on the spot and the crowd gathered.

Police who reached the spot after receiving information arrested two associates of Mangal Bihari and sent them to the police station while another is absconding. Meanwhile, administrative officers and rescue teams later arrived. The rescue operation was carried out for several hours. The body of the youth has been recovered late at night. Action is now being taken against his friends.
