AMRITSAR: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Saturday (December 3) seized over 7 kg of heroin in Punjab's Fazilka district, foiling yet another drug smuggling attempt. BSF has given information in this regard by issuing an official statement. This consignment of heroin was sent through a Pakistani drone. The statement said that seeing the movements of 3 to 4 suspects who had come to recover the consignment, the BSF personnel opened fire, but they managed to escape.

According to the BSF, at 12.05 am on Friday, the jawans heard the sound of a Pakistani drone entering Indian territory near Churiwala Chusti village. They also fired in the direction of the drone, which went back toward Pakistan. BSF tweeted that, during the search of the area, they recovered 9 packets of heroin, weighing 7.5 kg. Apart from this, a pistol, two magazines, and 50 cartridges of 9 MM were also found.

The alert BSF jawans once again foiled the nefarious attempt of anti-national elements of drug smuggling, the statement said. Earlier, a drone with 5 kg of heroin was recovered from a field near the India-Pakistan border in the Tarn Taran district of Punjab. An unmanned hexacopter with 6 rotors was recovered in a joint operation by the Punjab Police and the Border Security Force.
