Australia's wicketkeeper-bowler Peter Handscomb will take on England in the semi-finals of the ICC World Cup 2019 released here. This has been confirmed recently by Australia head coach Justin Langer. Handscomb was inducted into the team in place of veteran left-handed batsman Sean Marsh, who was injured last week.
Handscomb was not named in the starting team selected for the World Cup 2019. However, his performance in the series against Pakistan and India was very impressive and he played 13 consecutive ODIs for the team before the World Cup, while Steve Smith later came in his place.
The tournament's official website quoted Langer as saying, "I tell you the truth, Peter Handscomb will definitely play in the match, 100 %. He deserves it and he was also unhappy with not joining the team for the tournament. He was also unlucky to take us to the team after reaching out to us." further says Langer, "He is in good form and he played well for Australia-A. In the second semi-final match tomorrow, Australia and England will take on England tomorrow.
