VARANASI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Swarved Mahamandir in Varanasi, marking the commencement of the world's largest meditation center. During the center's inauguration, PM Modi emphasized the collaborative efforts of the government, society, and spiritual leaders in the transformation of Kashi. His visit to Varanasi, part of a two-day trip to his parliamentary constituency, included a tour of the colossal meditation center alongside Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Spanning over 300,000 square feet in Varanasi's Umraha, the Swarved Mahamandir has a capacity to accommodate 20,000 individuals for meditation sessions. Adorned with verses from the Swarveda across its seven floors, the structure stands as a testament to spiritual strength and cultural heritage.

In his speech, PM Modi lauded the people of Kashi for their strides in development and innovation alongside spiritual leaders. He underscored India's historical significance as a beacon of economic prosperity and progress globally, expressing pride in the nation's heritage and its declaration of freedom from a subservient mindset.

Referring to the Swarveda Temple as a modern symbol of India's social and spiritual prowess, PM Modi highlighted the intricate engravings of texts such as Vedas, Upanishads, Ramayana, Geeta, and Mahabharata, depicting divine messages and reinforcing spirituality, history, and culture.

PM Modi also addressed the importance of preserving cultural symbols, noting that post-independence, the reconstruction of these significant landmarks was necessary. He lamented the lack of respect for cultural identity, suggesting that such reverence could have strengthened national unity and self-respect. Reflecting on historical events, he mentioned the opposition faced during the reconstruction of the Somnath temple after independence, suggesting a prevailing mindset that endured for decades.

The inauguration of the Swarved Mahamandir stands as a milestone in the efforts toward spiritual rejuvenation and cultural preservation, aligning with PM Modi's vision for the holistic development of India's spiritual and societal fabric.
