New Delhi: Amidst the ongoing farmers' agitation against the centre's agricultural laws, PM Modi has joined through video conferencing at the centenary celebrations of Visva Bharati University in Santiniketan, West Bengal today. West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhanhar was also present at the function.

Speaking on the occasion of completion of 100 years of Visva Bharati University, PM Modi said that today it is a matter of great pride for every Indian. It is also pleasant for me that on this day, there is a chance to remember the merits of this holy place. PM Modi said, "Visva Bharati is a true embodiment of Gurudev's thinking, philosophy and diligence for India. It is a kind of adorable place to give the country a constant energy to realise the dream that Gurudev had dreamed of for India."

PM Modi said, "India is playing a huge role in the world for environmental protection through the International Solar Alliance. India is the only largest country in the world, moving fast in the right direction to meet the environmental goals of the Paris Accord." PM Modi said Gurudev's vision for Visva Bharati is the essence of self-reliant India. The Self-reliant India campaign is also the path of India's welfare for Jag Kalyan. The campaign is a campaign to strengthen India, a campaign to bring prosperity to the world from India's prosperity.
