Hyderabad: A shocking incident has come to light from Hyderabad, where the police have arrested a temple priest. The 36-year-old priest is accused of killing his girlfriend and throwing the body into a manhole to get rid of her. According to the news received, the priest has told the police that the woman was pressuring him for marriage and threatening to expose the priest if he did not agree. In fact, the priest was married and even after that he was in love with the woman. A 36-year-old priest of a temple in Hyderabad was arrested on Friday. The priest was accused of killing his girlfriend.

In this case, the police had questioned the priest. It was revealed that the woman was pressuring the priest to get married. Due to this, on the night of 3 June, he killed the woman, took her body in a car and then disposed it in the manhole. The name of the deceased woman was Kuruganti Apsara. During interrogation, it was revealed that Apsara had proposed marriage to the criminal Ayyagari Venkata Surya Sai Krishna in March itself. However, Apsara also knew that the priest was married. When the priest refused, the woman blackmailed him saying that if he did not marry her, she would expose him. Fed up with repeated blackmail, the priest, Sai Krishna, decided to kill Apsara, the police said in a release. On the night of June 3, he picked up the woman from her house, stoned her to death and took away her body in a car. She was later thrown into the manhole.

He then took the victim's mother to the police station and lodged a false complaint about Apsara's disappearance. Here, on June 6, the priest covered the manhole by bringing two red mud tippers and also burnt the woman's handbag and belongings. He washed his car and parked it in his apartment. "The next day, the priest reached the spot and tried to check if the manhole smelled bad. Sensing foul smell at the spot, some workers were also asked to cover and seal the manhole with concrete. After scanning the CCTV footage, the police found that there was a contradiction in the statement of the criminals. During interrogation, he confessed to killing the woman. The priest was arrested after he went through the footage of CCTV cameras installed in and around the temple, police said. During interrogation, the priest admitted that he had killed the woman.
