New Delhi: The matter of controversial remarks on Prophet Mohammad is continuously gaining momentum. Now the statement of a big leader of Bangladesh Awami League, the ruling party of neighboring Bangladesh, has come to the fore on this matter. Bangladesh Awami League veteran Khandakar Ghulam Moula Naqshbandi has said that the Indian government under pressure from the Gulf countries has taken action against the BJP leaders who made indecent remarks on Prophet Mohammad.

He has said that the Indian government acted late under pressure from the Gulf countries, while his PM Sheikh Hasina has acted immediately to deal with such incidents in recent days. Talking to a delegation of journalists in Dhaka, he said that PM Sheikh Hasina has a policy of zero tolerance towards religious fundamentalists. Naqshbandi, a member of the Bangladesh Awami League's advisory committee, said the Indian government waited for several days at first. He did not take any action against those who made controversial remarks about Prophet Mohammad. The government swung into action when the Gulf countries protested and took immediate action. He removed the spokespersons who made controversial statements.

Naqshbandi, one of the keynote speakers of the Sheikh Hasina government, has said that Bangladesh has shown vigilance in matters related to religious sentiments. He said that, last year when there was communal violence in Kumila. Our government took immediate action and arrested the culprits. Along with this, the damage was also controlled. He further said that the communal condition of India and Bangladesh are linked to each other. Violent elements may try to take advantage of the urgent matters in Bangladesh if they are not resolved immediately.
