NEW DELHI : The High Court of Delhi on Friday sought a clarification on the pleas moved by different groups of doctors against Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev's remarks with regard to Allopathy, asking whether the same issues were raised before the High Court and the Supreme Court.

In response to a lawsuit involving claims of Covid-19 treatment made by Ramdev's Patanjali "Coronil," Justice Anup Jairam Bhambhani said the bench should first obtain more information on the proceedings before the Supreme Court.

The bench made the observation during the hearing that Patanjali is a common party in both the High Court and Supreme Court cases, and that they both concern the same subjects.

The bench said, "I would want more clarity before I move with the matter," and rescheduled the hearing for August 20.
In connection with advertising that sought to disparage allopathy and its practising physicians in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak, the top court had pulled up Baba Ramdev on Tuesday and urged the Center to stop him.

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) said there was a smear effort against the Covid-19 vaccination drive and modern medicine, and the supreme court requested the Centre's response.

Justice Anup J. Bhambhani cautioned Ramdev during the previous hearing in front of the high court not to mislead the general public by making remarks against allopathy.
