Bilaspur: Ashok Sharma has filed a review petition in the High Court against Chhattisgarh CM and Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel, accusing him of grabbing land for the poor. Accepting the petition for hearing, the High Court has issued notices to the Economic Offenses Investigation Unit (EOW) and the state government and directed them to present the papers.

The petitioner has stated in the reconsideration petition that in the year 1995, Bhupesh Baghel was elected MLA of Patan assembly constituency. At that time, using his position and political influence, Bhilai had applied for the allotment of land to his wife and mother in Arpa Sada. The Arpa Sada engineers processed the application and identified two plots reserved for EWS and allotted four thousand square feet of land in the name of CM Baghel's mother and wife.

The petitioner has stated that this land was reserved for the poor. According to the petition, Ashok Sharma and Vijay Baghel (now BJP MP) had lodged a complaint at the EOW after the information on the allocation of land. After investigation, the EOW filed an FIR against the applicants, finding the complaint correct.
