Actors Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have contributed a large sum to the charity "Hope for Haiti" to aid those who have been affected by the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that has devastated the Caribbean island. The pair has reportedly given a hefty USD 10,000 to the rescue operations, according to media reports.

Taking to Instagram, the organization has thanked the couple for their ‘generous donation’ for ‘response & recovery efforts. “This donation will help empower our team to continue to respond in the hardest-hit areas of southern Haiti in the days and weeks to come,” the organization penned. Hope for Haiti is raising funds in order to provide relief to the people who have been affected by the damages left by the quake. The funds will be used to give vital supplies to those affected, such as dry food and hot meals. The performers' donations will also be used to establish mobile clinics, as specified by the Haitian Ministry of Health.

Over 2,000 people have died due to the devastating earthquake, and hundreds more have been reported missing. According to NBC News and People, the earthquake has injured over 12,000 people. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, members of the Sussex royal family, have teamed up with aid organizations to help Haitians recover. The Duke and Duchess expressed their sadness at the situation, describing themselves as "heartbroken."
