New Delhi: Jamia Millia Islamia has banned the entry of Safoora Zargar, accused in the Delhi riots case, in the university campus. This decision has been taken by the university a few days after the cancellation of MPhil admission on the ground of non-submission of the dissertation. An order issued by the university states that she has been banned from the campus due to the protest and march organized by Safoora Zargar.

The university has said in its order that Safoora is using the platform of the university for political agenda. The order said, "It is observed that Safoora Zargar (Alumni) along with some students has been involved in organizing agitations, protests and marches in the campus against irrelevant and objectionable issues to disturb the peaceful academic environment, which is mostly external. She is provoking the innocent students of the university and is trying to use the platform of the university along with some other students for her malicious political agenda.''

The order of the university further states that 'Safoora Zargar is disrupting the normal functioning of the institution. Keeping in view the above, the competent authority has approved the ban on former student Safoora Zargar in the campus with immediate effect to maintain the peaceful academic environment on the campus.'
