He said at the United Nations, 'The international community should be very clear and strong about how the Chinese government does not have the authority to determine the succession of the Dalai Lama. It should be determined by Tibetan Buddhists. '

In its statement, the US Ambassador says that this subject should be raised by the European Government which cares about religious freedom and human rights. He said, 'The United Nations should raise this issue. It should be taken up by other international bodies and governments around the world. European governments, especially those who care about religious freedom and human rights, should take it up.
