Mumbai: On Wednesday, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut appealed to the PM to make a national policy regarding the use of loudspeakers and implement it first in Gujarat-Delhi. Sanjay Raut demanded from the central government that it should make a national policy regarding the use of loudspeakers and implement it first in the BJP ruled states.

MNS chief Raj Thackeray had earlier this month demanded removal of loudspeakers from mosques in Maharashtra. Since then the issue of use of loudspeakers has become hot. Sanjay Raut told reporters in Mumbai, "On behalf of my party, I request PM Narendra Modi to formulate a national policy on the use of loudspeakers and first implement it in states like Bihar, Delhi and Gujarat." After this Shiv Sena will also naturally follow this policy as it is bound to follow the law of the land, he said.

Elaborating further, Sanjay Raut said, "Your people are creating controversy over the use of loudspeakers, so there is a need for a national policy. Loudspeakers have not been removed in Gujarat and UP so far. Raut said that the central government has done cow slaughter." But a national policy was made regarding the ban, but exemption was given to the northeastern states and Goa because the Chief Ministers of these states had opposed the ban on cow slaughter. He asked where is the national policy regarding this?
