New Delhi: Internet users in Singapore have criticised Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's claim that the corona virus has spread "very dangerous" in their country and accused him of spreading "misinformation" and asked him to apologise. It has also recommended a fact check.

Angry reactions from Singaporeans on social media came in Kejriwal's tweet saying that the new corona variant found in Singapore could bring a third wave to India. Kejriwal had tweeted on Tuesday, "The redesign of corona virus in Singapore is said to be very dangerous for children. It could reach Delhi as the third wave. My appeal to the Central Government is, 1. Cancel all air services from Singapore with immediate effect, 2. Work on vaccine options for children on priority basis".

Reacting to Kejriwal's tweet, Singapore's health ministry tweeted on Tuesday night, writing, "There is no reality in all the claims being made in the news. There is no Singaporean strain of the virus". The strain that has been visible in many corona cases in recent weeks is B.1.617.2 which originated in India. Genealogy test has found this B.1.617.2 variant to be associated with several clusters of viruses in Singapore. Noted Singaporeblogger M Brown wrote, "Delhi CM B1617 variant has come from your country".
