Spice Jet Launches Guwahati-Dhaka Non-Stop Flight

NEW DELHI: Under the International Air Connectivity Scheme, Spice Jet Airline has launched a non-stop flight from Guwahati in Assam to Dhaka in Bangladesh. Assam CM Sarbananda Sonwal flagged off the flight during a function held at the airport. According to Spice Jet Airline, the first flight under the International Air Connectivity Scheme is being operated between Guwahati-Dhaka-Guwahati.

With the launch of the flight, the plan to improve air connectivity from the North Eastern Region will be realized. According to Spice Jet, the code of the flight from Guwahati to Dhaka has been code DG-78. The flight will depart from Guwahati at around 11:55 p.m. and arrive in Dhaka around 1:20 p.m. The code of the flight from Dhaka to Guwahati has been kept sg-79. The flight will depart from Dhaka at 2:10 p.m. and arrive at Guwahati at around 3:25 p.m.

The airline's top official said the flight will be operated daily from July 1. He said the flight was scheduled to leave for Dhaka on Monday after the traditional event was concluded at Guwahati Airport. The flight was welcomed through the Water Canon Salut on its arrival in Dhaka. Spice Jet is operating two flights under the scheme.
