BHUBANESWAR:  STF seized brown sugar in Odisha valued Rs 1 crore . Special Task Force (STF) squad from the Odisha crime branch carried out a raid on the Sundarpada-Jatni route under the Airfield police station and confiscated brown sugar weighing 1050 grammes from the possession of a drug dealer, police said on Tuesday.

During a search, police in the capital city of Odisha, Bhubaneswar, confiscated over 1 kilogramme of brown sugar valued at over Rs 1 crore.

Umesh Behera, a drug dealer from Bhubaneswar, was detained and is currently being brought before the court.

In this regard, the Special Task Force has filed a complaint under the 1985 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act against Behera. In light of the holiday season, the task force has increased its specific campaign against narcotic narcotics, the official was told.

Since 2020, the Special Task Force has detained 159 drug dealers, confiscated more than 58 kg of brown sugar, 202 grammes of cocaine, more than 111 quintals of ganja, and 750 grammes of opium.
