Shimla: In a shameful incident, a minor girl was raped by a taxi driver in the tourist spot Kufri here. The victim hails from Mumbai and had come to Himachal with her family. In this connection, the Mumbai Police has registered a zero FIR on the basis of the girl's complaint and sent it to Himachal Police for further action.

According to the news received, in the month of April, the girl came to visit Shimla with her family. The family had hired a taxi with a Haryana number to roam around. It is alleged that the taxi driver took the minor alone to a deserted place during the night on the pretext of site scene and raped her. When the victim's family returned to Mumbai, the girl revealed the incident. Subsequently, a case was registered at Goregaon police station in Mumbai. The case was transferred to Theog under zero FIR by the police there. The police have registered an FIR under Section 376 of the IPC and POSCO act on the complaint of the victim's father.

According to the complaint, the victim's family had come on a trip to Shimla from April 8 to April 15. On April 12, the family reached a hotel in Kufri in a taxi bearing Haryana number. The taxi driver hails from outside Himachal. On the late evening of April 13, he lured the victim into a taxi alone on the pretext of a site scene. The culprit then took the victim to a different place and forcibly had physical relations with her, committing the heinous act. The victim's family has provided the police with the vehicle number of the culprit taxi driver. Then the police are trying to find the culprit and arrest him. On Saturday, Theog DSP Siddharth said that a case of rape has been registered under zero FIR and action is being taken.
