Mumbai: A cleric has been arrested for molesting a 10-year-old girl in Vasai area of Palghar district of Maharashtra. In this case, further action is being taken by registering an FIR under sections of IPC and POCSO Act. The accused cleric will be produced before the court today (28 March 2022).

According to media reports, the name of the accused is Noorullah Ashraf Ali Sheikh. He works in a madrasa located in Vasai. On Sunday (27 March 2022), a 24-year-old cleric was thrashed fiercely by the locals for molesting the girl. The video of this incident is also going viral on social media. In the viral video you can see that the local people are very angry. They are thrashing the Maulvi out of the street. Along with this, the cleric is also seen confessing his crime in the video. Maulvi is saying that he kissed the girl.

It is being told that a 10-year-old innocent girl had gone to a nearby shop to get some free money at around 10 am on Sunday. The Maulvi standing near the shop called the girl to him and took her to the graveyard saying that he would give her free money. After this Ali Sheikh took the girl there and kissed her. When the local people came to know about this, they caught him and beat him fiercely and dragged him to the police station. During this a huge crowd of people gathered on the road. He also made a video of the accused, in which he is admitting his crime. After the viral video surfaced, a case of molestation under the POCSO Act was registered at the Valiv police station.
