Bangalore: Honourkilling in Mysuru district of A. Karnatak A shocking case has come to light. Where, a father had to spend 17 years of his daughter in a relationship with a boy from the Dalit community so much that he strangled his own daughter to death. The case pertains to Kaggundi village under Periyapatna taluk. Police have arrested the father on charges of murdering his daughter.
According to media reports, the college student belonged to the Vokkaliga community and was in love with a boy from the Dalit community in a neighbouring village. The family was angry about the relationship between the daughter and the boy. The family had also asked their daughter several times to distance themselves with the boy. When he did not pay heed to what his parents said, the father strangled his daughter to death and dumped her body in the field. When the case came to light, the police arrested the girl's parents.
Regarding the incident, Mysuru Superintendent of Police Chetan said, "Two of the accused have been arrested. We are awaiting the post-mortem report. The girl belonged to the Vokkaling community and the girl belongs to the Dalit community. At the same time, tension has spread in the surrounding area since the incident.
