Jaipur: Rajasthan's Anti-Corruption Bureau has arrested Bharatpur Police Officer Inspector Surendra Singh for accepting a bribe of 1.5 lakh rupees. Under the information received, Surendra Singh was posted as a police station officer at Gopalgarh police station in Bharatpur. Sonia, who was working as a constable reader here, has also been arrested for her involvement in the bribery case.

The complainant had reportedly complained to the Anti-Corruption Bureau that the police station officer was harassing him by demanding a bribe of Rs 10 lakh through a reader in lieu of helping him in a case registered by him. The ACB now says that they set up a trap after verifying the case in which police station officials and readers were caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 1.5 lakh. As per the information received in the case, the houses and other hideouts of the accused are being searched in the directions of Anti-Corruption Bureau ADG Dinesh MN.

Recently, the Anti-Corruption Bureau in Rajasthan took another major action. Meanwhile, labor commissioner Pratik Jagadia was arrested by the ACB in Jaipur for accepting a bribe of 3 lakh rupees, and two more persons were also nabbed by the Anti Corruption Bureau in the operation. In the same vein, Ravi Meena, a privileged officer of the Economic Chief Advisory Council of Rajasthan, and Amit Sharma, a private person, have also been arrested.
