Baghpat: A case of murder of BJP leader has come to light in Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh, the country's largest state. BJP leader and former minister Atmaram Tomar have been strangled to death here. The body of Atmaram Tomar has been recovered from his house. Police have seized the body and sent it for postmortem. Police are investigating the case.
The same incident took place at Bijraul Road in Baraut. Tomar's body was found at his residence. The BJP leader is said to have been strangled with a towel. His car was also found missing from the spot. The door was closed when Tomar's driver Vijay reached his residence in the morning. Then, the door was broken and Atmaram Tomar's body was lying on the bed. He had a towel on his face.
The driver then handed over the letter to the family members and the police. Atmaram Tomar has also been the Principal of Janata Vedic College. He also contested from Chhaprauli Assembly in 1993 on a BJP ticket and was also a BJP-rated minister in 1997. The same case is now being investigated by the police.
