Due to a reduction in Covid-19 cases, the Uttar Pradesh government announced on Tuesday that the state's night curfew will be lifted by one hour. Instead of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., the night curfew will now be 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. The revised timings will take effect immediately, according to an order issued by Awanish Awasthi, assistant chief secretary for the home.

Other coronavirus protocols, including wearing masks, using hand sanitizers, and keeping social distance, will continue to be carefully observed, according to the order. The new order came after cinema and multiplex owners, as well as those in the hospitality industry, requested that curfew hours be relaxed since it was negatively impacting their businesses.

On Monday,  Uttar Pradesh reported 12 additional coronavirus cases, bringing the overall number of illnesses to 17,09,457. According to a government bulletin, two instances each were recorded from Jalaun and Badaun, and one case each from Lucknow, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Gorakhpur, Kannauj, Azamgarh, Lakhimpur Kheri, Moradabad, and Amethi.

It claimed there had been no new deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 22,861. On Monday, fifteen patients were discharged, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 16,86,369.
The active caseload in the state stood at 227 of which 186 were in home isolation, it said. In the past 24 hours, more than 1.85 lakh samples were tested. So far, over 7.36 crore samples have been examined in the state, it added.
