Lucknow: Uroosha, the daughter of poet Munawwar Rana, has made a statement against the Yogi government just like her father. Reacting to her father Munawwar's statement that she had left the district, Congress candidate from Puruwa assembly seat in Uttar Pradesh, Uroosha said, "Not my abba, but Yogi Adityanath will leave Lucknow and go to Gorakhpur.''

According to media reports, Uroosha Rana also attacked Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav, saying he had cheated Muslims. Uroosha further said that at the time of the CAA-NRC protest, when her daughter had reached the protest, Akhilesh Yadav had said that he had strayed the path by deceit. This statement makes Akhilesh Yadav's mentality understandable. He said the issue of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) will always remain. The way Congress has raised this issue and given me a ticket, it is clear that the party stands with them in all issues of the Muslims.

Uroosha, who came into the limelight after the anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protests, had taken on the Congress in October 2020. She was made the vice-president of the party's state women's unit by Congress. Uroosha had also come into the limelight in July 2021 when she accused state president Ajay Kumar Lallu, considered to be special to Congress national general secretary Priyanka Gandhi, of misbehaving.
