Woman sub-inspector shot dead during Delhi elections, culprit absconded

New Delhi: A woman sub-inspector (SI) was shot dead by miscreants amidst tight security arrangements over voting in Rohini area of Delhi, the country's capital. The deceased has been identified as Preeti Ahlawat. After the incident, the crooks escaped from the scene. The police is investigating the case. Sub Inspector Preeti was posted at Patparganj Industrial Area Police Station. She was admitted to Delhi Police in 2018.

Giving information about the case, the police said that at around nine o'clock at night, three assailants who arrived by bike on the way out of Rohini East metro station of Preeti Dilshad Garden Rithala Line shot them in the head. This seriously injured her. At the same time, hearing the sound of the bullet, people nearby reached the spot and informed the police.

After this, the injured Priti was taken to the nearby hospital by the local people, where doctors declared her dead. Police has kept the dead body in Ambedkar Hospital for post mortem. At present, the reasons for the murder have not been known. Police has said that sub-inspector Preeti was living in Rohini with one of her classmates, the matter is currently under investigation.
