Dehradun: A major accident has occurred in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Here a house was hit and completely destroyed due to a landslide in Pengarh village. 5 people of the same family got buried in this house. Rescue and search operation has started on the spot. A body has been recovered. While 4 persons have been rescued and sent to the hospital. Their condition is stated to be serious.

According to the SDRF, on Saturday, news was received from the district control room that debris has covered two to three houses in Tharali Paingarh, in which 3 to 4 persons are likely to be buried. On the spot, a rescue team under the leadership of General SDRF Manikant Mishra was sent to the spot. Due to a landslide on the spot, a huge stone from the mountain hit the house, due to which the house completely collapsed, in which 5 people were buried. The rescue team of SDRF rescued an injured person from under the damaged house and was immediately sent to the hospital. While one person is buried under the lantern, efforts are on to retrieve him. Two injured persons have already been sent to the hospital. A woman has died. A total of four people have been referred to the Higher Center.

A few days back, a heart-wrenching picture of landslides in the Pithoragarh district surfaced. Near Najang on the Tawaghat Lipulekh road in Dharchula, suddenly a large part of the mountain fell on the road. Fortunately, there was no loss of life or property due to this landslide. The video of this landslide was made by a passerby passing by and now this video is going viral on social media.
